![]() The Terminal Collection: 1978 - 1984 The year 1978 is a tad quiet, except for the ultimate collection: The Best Short Stories... best part is reading JGB's little intro raps before diving back into his remarkable imagination. Then, 1979 brings The Unlimited Dream Company, which has always struck me as a warmup for The Day of Creation, although all would generally agree this is the better novel. I love the autobiographical cover art -- JGB the observer and participant, the three kids, the dead wife, being threatened by the turkey buzzard -- pretty zany. ![]() Bananas #10 London, Spring 1978 Contains the short story, Having A Wonderful Time ![]() The Best Short Stories of J.G. Both proofs are in light blue covers, but the initial proof can be distinguished on the front by the description 'uncorrected typescript'; it is also 524 pages, compared to the normal proof's 278 pages. Inside, the initial proof has a copyright date of 1983, but it is often seen for sale dated 1984, the same year as the eventual publication date of the novel."
